Laughing Matters; An international conference exploring humour, health and learning hosted by The Comedy Trust

There is a growing amount of medical and academic research into the beneficial effects of laughter and humour to our health and well-being. Laughing Matters is the third international conference on this topic hosted by The Comedy Trust.
Research topics and papers include, ‘Is laughter the best medicine for children in hosptials?’ ‘Choosing the amusing – creating a therapeutic humour programme’ and ‘How effective is humour in the classroom?’
Speakers include Stuart Smith, Executive Director of Children’s Services for Liverpool City Council and keynote speaker Patty Wooten an internationally recognised leader in the field of therapeutic humour.
Laughing Matters will take place at the Conference Centre at LACE, Sefton Park, Liverpool on Monday 18th June 2007.
DELEGATES
Laughing Matters is aimed at health practitioners, teachers, youth workers, local authority staff and anyone who has an interest in the use of humour, laughter and comedy in health and learning. There will be opportunities to listen to research being conducted in this field, share practice, engage in debate, make connections and network.
